My name is Jonathan Cordiner. I am 40 years old, I hail from the North East of Scotland and I am a husband and a Dad of 3 wonderful girls. I was a Primary School teacher in my early career, a Depute Head and a Headteacher. I am now a Quality Improvement Officer (QIO) with Aberdeenshire Council Education and Children’s Services, which is a role that I love, because it allows me to pursue my passion for leadership, it allows me to help others and through doing so have a positive impact on children, families and wider communities.
At aged 30, we faced an incredibly challenging chapter of our lives, where in 3 consecutive years, we lost my Father, my Daughter, then my Mother. Our daughter Kayleigh leaves behind quite the legacy. In 2012, my wife and I founded the charity Kayleigh’s Wee Stars in her name, and have raised over a million pounds in support of terminally ill children across Scotland. You can find out more about Kayleigh’s Story here www.kayleighsweestars.co.uk
Over the years, I quite naturally came to speak regularly at Education and Leadership Conferences through my professional career, and at charity events through the work and life of Kayleigh’s Wee Stars. I relish the opportunity to try and bring people together for a common cause, and enjoy trying to ignite passion and inspiration in others.
